MUN takes on Berlin

Last week, the ASW MUN delegation traveled to Berlin, Germany, for the annual BERMUN conference.

Prior to the conference, the delegation spent weeks preparing their policy statements and draft resolutions for their committee’s debates.

The delegation represented Cuba in Disarmament Committee, Environment Committee, Human Rights Committee, Political Committee, and Special Conference. There were also two members participating in the Youth Assembly.

Most members were able to pass many amendments and a resolution in their respective committees.

“For me, meeting new people and seeing old friends from before, and bonding with each other as a delegation” were the highlights of the conference, delegation member Lily said.

“One of the highlights was definitely the cookie breaks,” said Kacper about the four-day conference. “It was also fun to make speeches against amendments and resolutions.”
